2025 Board of Directors

The BSCYF Board holds monthly meetings and meeting minutes will be published online within one month following the meeting. Members in good standing (current season player parents/guardians) are welcome to attend semi-annual Open Membership Meetings tentatively slated for March, August and December.

Board of Directors - Roles & Responsibilities

President - As Chief Executive Officer they will preside over all Board meetings, have the ability to appoint Chairpersons of committees as required, resolve head coach resignations, make temporary appointments to fill Board of Director positions, and set dates/times of all Board meetings. 

Vice President - In the event the President is unable to fulfill their duties the VP shall be appointed President until the original term expires. They are also responsible for social media and other duties as assigned by the Board. 

Treasurer - As Chief Financial Officer of the organization, they shall keep and maintain financial transactions of the organization. Make all bank deposits and render payments as required by the Executive Board, prepare an annual budget and financial statement, as well as ensure there are no commingling of personal or non-league assets.

Secretary - Shall keep minutes of all Board meetings, maintain Bylaws, responsible for all written correspondence to the membership, and maintain all volunteer, participant, and coach forms/documentation to ensure compliance with the organization’s governance. 

Director of Tackle Football - Supervise day-to-day activities of all Tackle coaches and participants to ensure a safe and quality youth football program. Responsible for informing the coaching staff of any Board activities that may relate to their teams and be the authority toward which parents, players or coaches may voice requests or concerns. They will determine if the matter should be taken to the Board for possible action. 

Director of Flag Football - Supervise day-to-day activities of all Flag coaches and participants to ensure a safe and quality youth football program. Responsible for informing the coaching staff of any Board activities that may relate to their teams and be the authority toward which parents, players or coaches may voice requests or concerns. They will determine if the matter should be taken to the Board for possible action. 

Director of Equipment - Responsible for issuing and collecting all equipment owned by the league. Ensure that each team has the necessary equipment, parts, and tools to play safely and is responsible for reporting to the Board any requests for replacements or additionally required league equipment. 

Director of Concessions & Merchandise - Manages inventory, vendor order fulfillment, and distribution of all concessions table and Scotties Football merchandise. Manages a Concessions and Merchandise Committee. Recruits and tracks volunteer hours for the membership. 

Director of Corporate Sponsorship - Prepare annual B2B fundraising programs and associated timelines that support the major activities planned for the year. Prepare a report of all campaign funds raised to the Executive Committee and ensure the Sponsors have been satisfactorily recognized throughout the season. Organize volunteer efforts to successfully run the sponsorship campaigns. Work closely with the Chair of Fundraising on all campaigns.

Coach & Player Development

2025 Chair, Open

Committee meets monthly year-round to assess skill development, partner with Varsity Football, and organize off-season training events.

NOMINATIONS for 2026

2025 Chair, open

Coordinates annual elections, helps to recruit new interest in board of director nominations, answers member questions and remains informed on organization bylaws and procedures to act as a subject matter expert during membership meetings. 

Homecoming

2025 Chair or Co-Chairs, open

Committee meets weekly  during season practice if you are interested in helping.

Fundraising

Campaign or Special Event Chairs, open

This committee assists with Special Events and Fundraising other than Corporate Sponsorship and Homecoming.

Uniform Coordinator

Assists the Director of Equipment through organization of the ordering, vendor fulfillment, and distribution of uniforms, namely personalized jerseys for players and coaches. 

MARKETING

Newsletters, Social media, Registration promotion, Event  Marketing, member surveys, and more. Great committee for creative professionals or skilled enthusiasts!

WEBMASTER

Maintains organization website with current, relevant content year-round. Supports Marketing Committee and Board of Directors by fulfilling sponsorship advertisment obligations. 

Scholarship

2025 Chair, Open

Selection Committee evaluates recipient criteria, manages fund in cooperation with Treasurer, and selects from eligible applications to award player scholarships based on financial need.
